Japanese Captain Marvel Poster Shows Multiple Versions Of Carol Danvers

A recent Japanese posted for Captain Marvel shows multiple versions of Carol Danvers as both a superhero and a fighter pilot.

The Marvel train continues to roll on and we are extremely excited about it. That's because 2019 may bring with it more changes to the MCU than we have ever seen before. In the space of less than four months, we will get to see Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Sticking with Captain Marvel for now though, and this promises to be like no MCU movie we have seen up until now. For starters, the 21st installment in the franchise will be the first that is led by a female superhero, played by Brie Larson. Since the last time we saw the rest of our beloved heroes was when half of them turned to dust, Captain Marvel is naturally set in the past.

24 years in the past, to be exact. However, Captain Marvel's, or rather Carol Danvers', story goes back way further than 1995. Danvers has actually been to Earth before and was a fighter pilot with the air force, hence the poster below. As has been suggested by the trailers, and is effectively confirmed by the Japanese poster for the movie, the origin story for Captain Marvel will be told in a pretty unique way.

Tradition dictates that most of the time, the audience learns of a superhero's origin story at the start of the film. However, it seems we will learn of Captain Marvel's at the same time the character does. As the movie progresses, and she helps to save Earth from an intergalactic battle between two alien forces, Danvers will have flashbacks to her previous life on Earth, thus filling us in on it at the same time.

Rumor has it that Marvel actually considered introducing us to Captain Marvel prior to her own movie. Both Age Of Ultron and Infinity War were considered for her debut. We personally think that their restraint and saving the female hero until now has paid off, or it will do when Captain Marvel is released. The first 24 hours of its pre-sales rank in the top three of any MCU movie to date, so clearly we aren't the only ones who are excited about it.
